Tri-County Swimming Pool Association

MINUTES OF MEETING

October 12, 2004

The meeting was opened by President David Katz at 8:15 p.m.  Minutes of the July 2004 meeting were approved.

New Representatives from Meadowbrook – Debbie Kilpatrick, Brookside – Cherise Thompson and Fox Hollow – Kathy Reynolds were introduced and welcomed.

Treasurer’s Report:  Paul Patterson reports as of October 12, 2004, the balance in the account is $6,659.59.  Paul reports this is lower than last year but cites the increase in costs of G.C.I.T.  We are in good financial shape.  Costs should remain the same for next year.  Main costs for Tri County are the pool and the programs.  Discussion and suggestions for alternate sites.

New Officers:  David Katz thanks all for the help and cooperation he received.  Tri County ran very smoothly.  Many thanks to the Executive Board and Domenick Acciani.

The secretary and treasurer will remain for another term.

David places in nomination the name of John Mahon for president.  Lou D’Angelo makes motion to approve, seconded by Paul O’Connell.   Approval by acclamation.

David next places the name of Gene Howard in nomination for Vice President.  Paul

O’Connell makes motion to approve, seconded by Kate Latimer.  Approval by acclamation.

Swimming:  David Katz has no report at this time.

Computer:  Joe Crick explains the contents of team packet.  Need to upgrade software.  Order by mail or online.  There will be a separate manual in the Spring.

Tri county record certificates distributed.

Lou D’Angelo inquires about why meet sheets do not line up.  Joe states this is due to different printers.  Joe will try to shrink the printed sheet for manual use.

“B” Meets:  Art Kollmeier states he will get started as soon as web is ready.  Would like all requests by first week in January.  Check your schedule for home and away.

Meeting Schedule:  January 11  - March 8  - May 10

Championship Meet Report:  Don Heaney reports Downs Farm made approximately $21,500.  Suggests getting a clear contract for next year.  Try to keep Danzeisen & Quigley.  Good PR.  Don found Trish Green is the boss.  Go to her.  Paperwork given to Sunnybrook and Meadowbrook.

Sunnybrook will host the meet in 2005.  No report yet.

New Business:  Kathy Fitzpatrick brings up the issue of certain swimmers refusing to stage at Tri County. This created many problems, as we had no idea if they were swimming or not.  Asking all reps to inform their coaches that all swimmers must stage at the

Tri county meet.  This is to be brought up at the coaches meeting in June.  John Mahon explains how the staging area works.

Officials clinics – complaint that they are not effective on the pool deck.  There is too much noise.  Should be in the classroom and then move to the pool.  Need to know the basics and what the job entails.

Starter/Referee clinic is good.  David Katz will look into this.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Patricia Hafner, Secretary
