Tri-County Swimming Pool Association
Minutes of Meeting
October 9, 2001
The meeting at Riverton Country Club was called to order at 8:13 pm by Dan Driscoll. Minutes from the July 10, 2001 meeting were approved.
New representatives, Mike Rolish, Cherry Valley; Gene Howard, Kingston; and Denise Schiavo, Meadowbrook were introduced.
Swimming
We need people to volunteer to do ribbons and awards on Sunday of the Championship Meet.
Tavistock passed on hosting the 2002 Championship Meet. Covered Bridge should be the next club to host. We would like to check with the smaller clubs that have never hosted the meet and try to set up a 5 year schedule in the spring.
Computer
Joe Crick reviewed the contents of the packet. We are moving to Team Manager II for Windows. All clubs must order the upgrade.
Championship Meet
Barclay made over $21,000 by hosting the Championship Meet.
Old Business
We will try to get a 5 year commitment from GCIT for the Championship Meet. We would like this to include any rent increases.
New Business
Rule change proposals were presented. Art Kollmeier proposed that 3 official teams may be entered in each relay event. He is not as concerned with how the relays are scored but that points be awarded for first, second, and third place.
Dan Driscoll proposed that we change the distances for the 15-18 girls IM, backstroke, and breaststroke to conform with the distance progression of the boys and to conform with high school distances.
Paul Patterson proposed that Tri-County change to the "No Recall" false start rule that is used in USS Swimming.
John Mahon proposed that we reinstitute the drop line on false starts.
Reps are asked to bring feedback from their clubs to the January meeting. The rule changes will be debated at the January meeting and voted on at the March meeting. Any changes will be implemented in May and presented to the coaches in June.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Riverton Country Club at 8:00PM.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Carol Meyers
