MINUTES OF MEETING
MAY 13, 2003
The meeting at Riverton Country Club was called to order at 8:15 p.m. by David Katz. Minutes from the March 11, 2003 meeting were approved.
New tri county representative from Old Orchard will be Karen Shore. Welcome!
Treasurer
Paul Patterson reports as of May 13, 2003 balance in the treasury is $20,130.68. This includes deposits from 29 out of 36 teams and bills paid to Crown Trophy, insurance and other supplies.
Swimming
Ron Kane reports on the official's clinics and states qualifying times are in your packets. Six changes are quicker, one is slower. There is l misprint in 13-14 boys 50 fly. Should be 35.0 (no change.) Changed times are marked by asterisks*. Coaches meeting will be 1:00 p.m. and reps meeting will be 9:00 a.m. Burt German will once again run the clinics on June 7th at G.C.I.T. Check the Tri-Co web site for the listing of certified officials for your club; certification must be renewed every 2 years!!
Rule changes - few minor changes. Unofficial relay - outside lane only.
Starting guns - Tri county discourages use
There will be 3 rule changes in the final rules. Handout given at June meeting.
There is also a handout on Certified Pool Operators if anyone is interested.
Championship Meet
Ed and Kathy from Tavistock Hills report they have designed a great t-shirt. Also they have bought back the food concession from G.C.I.T. Trying to give people reason to stay downstairs to alleviate crowding upstairs. Seating will be first come, first serve. Make parents aware only 500 spectators will be allowed. Notice to be published with regard to restrictions. No seat saving! There will be a meeting with G.C.I.T. to discuss adding more spectators to lower deck. Will have more TV coverage downstairs. Video needs to cover all lanes. Possibility of splitting the finals into two sessions, (12 and under - 13 and over) on Sunday if there is no other alternative. Much discussion about the problems associated with tri county meet this year.
T-shirts with the theme "Got Water" will be available at the June meeting.
Ron Kane states construction may not start this summer as the job is just now going out for bid.
David Katz urges all to try to come up with positive suggestions to make meet as good as possible in the same wonderful, friendly, competitive spirit we have come to know.
Computer
Joe Crick has sheet with dates and clubs for computer training May 19 and 20.
Team manager to generate meet sheets. Electronically possible to do cards also.
B Meets
Art Kollmier discusses "B" meets. Any problems please contact Art. All teams have been scheduled according to their requests.
Awards
Paul Patterson has volunteered to chair awards for the Championship Meet again for 2003. All "A" and "B" division clubs MUST participate!! At the finals on Sunday, "A" teams will do first half,( or session) of meet, "B" teams do the second half,(or session).

Saturday - June 7 9:00am reps meeting
Stroke/Turn and Starter/Referee Clinics at 10:30, 12:00
Additional Stroke/Turn and Starter/Referee Clinics at GCIT on Tuesday and Thursday, June 10 and 12 at 6:30pm and 7:30pm
Coaches meeting l:00 p.m.
**Scorers’ table meeting will only be held on Saturday, June 7th, 10:30 and 12:00**
**Each club must have a person attend the scorers’ table meeting**
Future Meeting Dates:
7/10 Thursday Mid-Summer meeting at Wedgewood at 7:30 p.m.
7/24 seeding meeting at Woodcrest at 7:30 p.m.
New Business:
Elegibility Committee - new members will be chosen at the June meeting. One-third of the committee will change. Read tri-county rules. Ken Winter asks any issues to be brought to June meeting.
Kathy Fitzpatrick asks a review of how meet sheets are sent. Home team sends sheets to all teams that need to swim either of the two teams. Make sure sheets are mailed in a timely fashion. Pay special attention to the July 5th meet.
***At the June 7th meeting, 9am at GCIT:
Reps need to turn in a copy of their swim team’s roster, both printed and on disc.
Reps will receive A & B meet ribbons, rule books, meet sheets and cards. A Tri- County representative or an alternate MUST attend the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Next meeting at G.C.I.T. on June 7th at 9:00am
