MINUTES OF THE TRI COUNTY MEETING              March 11, 2008

       

 

President Gene Howard called the meeting to order at 8:10 PM at Riverton Country Club. 

 

New representative from Whitman Square was introduced:  Colin Finnigan

 

Treasurer’s Report

Ø      Steve Ries reports there was a beginning balance of $15,974.63 in the treasury.

Ø      Total bills paid (Website domain registration) were $194.00.

Ø      Ending balance of $15,780.63.

Ø      Steve also reported that the annual billing spreadsheet will be circulated via e-mail within the next 7 days.   This spreadsheet will include the costs of all rule books and “B” Meet ribbons.  The checks will be due to Steve Ries by April 30, 2008.

Old Business

 

The following proposed rule changes were voted on.

 

Proposal #1

·        For - 0

·        Opposed - 27 

Therefore, the proposed rules changes pertaining to the referee will not be made.

 

          Proposal #2(a)  

·        For  - 21

·        Opposed - 6

Therefore, the rules will be changed to allow for a 30-minute warm-up.

 

Proposal #2 (b)

·        After much discussion about a proposed timeline for appeals to the Swimming Coordinator and the Appeals Committee, it was agreed that the vote on this proposal would be tabled until the May meeting.

Proposal #2 (c)

·        For - 19

·        Opposed - 8

Therefore, photos, videos, etc. will not be considered in the event of a close race.

 

Proposal #2(d)

·        For - 1

·        Opposed - 26

Therefore, the rules will not be changed regarding Code of Conduct.

 

Proposal #3

·        For - 4

·        Opposed - 23

Therefore, the dual meet scoring rules will not be changed.

 

 New Business

Ø       Doug Walker, Board President of Westwood Swim Club, reported that, due to the club’s financial problems, it is unclear at this time whether Westwood Swim Club will be able to open this summer.  The club plans to hold some fundraisers and he asked all of the clubs for their support.  He indicated that they would still like to field a swim team.

 

Ø      The June TCSPA reps meeting and the 2008 officials clinics will be held at Greenfields Swim Club on Saturday, June 7th.  The reps meeting will start at 9:00 AM.  Reps who are unable to attend the June 7th meeting need to send a delegate.

 

Ø      Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 8:00 PM at Riverton Country Club.
