Treasurer’s Report

Ø      Steve Ries reports there was a beginning balance of $21,154.33 in the treasury.

Ø      Total deposits were $27,050.00.

Ø      Total bills paid (all pertaining to the Tri Co Championship Meet) were $33,434.53.

Ø      Ending balance of $14,769.80.

Ø      It cost Tri County approximately $5700.00 to run the meet (negative meet).  This included doubling the number of portable toilets from 2006.

Ø      Total meet cost for 2007 was still about equal to the 2006 cost.

o       Paul Patterson mentioned that the executive board put together a document that lays out expenses and responsibilities for the host club and Tri County.  This document will be used for all future meets.

o       Gene Howard made it clear that Tri County assumes certain expenses so that a consistently high level meet will be guaranteed.

Ø      It is not the goal of Tri County to keep an extremely high balance in the checking account through the winter.

Computer

Ø      Joe Crick stated there was an envelope for each team with the 2008 schedule and a CD with various data from the 2007 season.

Ø      Joe Crick introduced the Dolphin Wireless Stopwatch Timing System to be used for the Championship Meet.

o       It synchronizes times on all watches and would reduce timing errors and improve accuracy of the Tri County Championship Meet.  It would be especially helpful for the 25 meter races.

o       The system includes 19 watches and costs about $3000.00.

o       The Tri County Executive Board recommends the purchase.  Joe will negotiate the price with the Colorado Timing System after January 2008.

o       Any individual clubs interested in purchasing this and/or any other Colorado equipment should let Joe know by January 2008.

o       Joe will send out the information to all clubs.

Ø      Motion was made by Lou D’Angelo to purchase the above system.  Chris McCoy seconded the motion.  The motion passed.

David Katz / Swimming Coordinator

Ø      David stated that there would be no changes in the meet format for the 2008 Tri County Championship Meet.

Ø      All sessions ran well with extra time on Sunday if needed for bad weather.

Ø      Official Clinics in June 2008.  Most officials will need to be recertified this year.

Ø      Minor wording changes in technical rules USA Swimming.  These will be discussed at the June clinics.  These changes can be accessed by visiting the USA Swimming website.
