MINUTES OF MEETING
June 7, 2003
David Katz called the meeting at G.C.I.T. to order at 9:15 a.m. Minutes of the May meeting were approved.
New tri county rep from Cherry Valley will be Joe Jastrzembski. Welcome.
David Katz states any changes in the rep’s contact information during the season can be given to Dominic with your weekly meet sheets. E-mail addresses are current on the web. This is the most efficient way to communicate with other representatives.
Dominic, the web-master, can be e-mailed directly at www.tricountyswimming.org
Treasurer: Paul Patterson reports as of 6/7/03 we have a balance of $25,306.43. This includes deposits from the 7 remaining teams and a bill paid to Jenkins Printers. Paul reports we will true up the dues at the Woodcrest meeting. Be prepared and bring a check. The Championship Meet entry fees will be $4.00 for individual events and $8.00 for relays.
We are in good financial shape.
Swimming: Ron Kane reports there are clinics today at l0: 30 and 12:00 and again next Tuesday and Thursday, June 10 and 12 at GCIT, at night.
All clubs are reminded to have a 15-meter mark on their lane lines. All unofficial relays must be in the outside lanes. We discourage strongly the use of the starting gun.
Eligibility: New member teams chosen for the 2003-2004 Eligibility Committee are Brookside, Stratford, Greenwood Park, Cherry Valley, Woodstream and Wedgewood, (all 2 year terms). Outgoing teams will be Georgetown, Sunnybrook, Wenonah, Westwood, Wexford Leas and Woodcrest.
Computer: Joe Crick reminds everyone that a roster and insurance form for each swimmer must be at the scoring table. You can generate meet sheets on the computer.
Seeding meeting will be July 24. Read instructions. Best times list will be published on the web. Make sure you check the number of events for each swimmer at the end of the
fifth meet, to prepare for their Championship meet entries.
Swimmers entries for the Championship meet will be due Monday after the 5th meet. Weekly meet entries are due on Sunday.
At the Wedgewood meet on July 10, you will receive relay cards and entry sheets, which need to be filled out and returned at the July 24 Woodcrest meeting.
Graduate Awards: John Mahon suggests starting early to get a list of graduating swimmers and their information, how many years on the team, what school they will be attending. Only for 18 year olds. E-mail this information to John by July 1.
Inclement weather: Check rulebook page 5. Try to get the meet in on Saturday by a 10.00am start time. Must be done by Monday night for record keeping.
If a meet is stopped, the sheets must be collected and sealed and given to the referee (all 3 copies). There can be no changes for the first 3 events when the meet is re-started.
Future meetings; July 10 - Wedgewood 7:30 p.m. July 24 - Woodcrest 7:30 p.m.
October 7 - Riverton Country Club 8:00 p.m.
Tri County Championships: There will be 2 sessions for finals on Sunday.
Still looking for the most workable plan for balcony admissions at GCIT
