MINUTES OF MEETING
JULY 15, 2004
The meeting was called to order by the President, David Katz, at 7:45 p.m.
Minutes of the June meeting were approved.
Attendance sheet passed around.
Treasurer’s Report: Paul Patterson reports as of July 15, 2004, the balance in the account is $16,129.49. Danzeisen and Quigley has already made their payment for 2004 championships.
Awards have also been paid in full. All teams in Tri County are current. At the Woodcrest meeting, bring a blank check for splash fees and final dues reconciliation. Splash fees will be $4.00, relays will be $8.00.
Awards – There will be l session on Sunday. We will need the following volunteers:
“A” division clubs will write awards for events #1 through 33 and ”B” division clubs will write for events #34 through 66.
Swimming: Ron Kane reports there were a lot of close meets with questionable stroke and turn calls. Remind stroke and turn officials that competition should be in the pool. D.Q.’s should be reported to the referee, not the coach. The referee controls the meet. A problem between two teams on D.Q. could affect the meet. No extra people at the scoring table. Referee should move people from the table. Be as fair as possible, At this time, there are 2 meets left, appreciate help in making meets run smoothly. This is the responsibility of the Tri County rep.
Looking for qualified stroke and turn judges for Championship meet. Email their names to Ron Kane
David Katz states send all meet sheets to Dominic. Deck officials should wear white. D.Q. cards – make sure reason is stated on the card. Make reason specific and initial or sign card, also let the referee know. Have all officials read the rule books.
Scoring – If a swimmer is swimming up and it is not indicated on the meet sheet, this is not a reason for D.Q. provided the swimmer entry card indicates the swimmer is swimming up. The swimmers name on the card must match their name on the sheet. This will be covered next year in the rule book. Relays with swimmers swimming up should not be sent in to the computer coordinator as part of the team results. Also, send in only the “A” relays. The order of the swimmers on a medley relay entry card must match the order on the sheet. Free relay entry cards need only match the names on the sheet; the order need not match. On pink and blue index cards, put labels and swimmers name on same side. List up to 12 swimmers for relays.
Ron Kane states due to moving in and out of divisions each year, please let your divisional opponents know if you cannot host a meet. Also, make sure you identify multiple event qualifiers to determine their 2 entries for the Championship meet. If you have this information after the last meet you can easily create your club’s entries. Psych sheets should be ready by Wednesday. Cherry Bowl, Peach Bowl and Burlington County top times will be on the website.
