Tri-County Swimming Pool Association

MINUTES OF MEETING
JANUARY 11, 2005
President John Mahon called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. Minutes of the October meeting were approved.
New Representative: Mike Simunek – Willowdale - Welcome!!
Treasurer’s Report: Paul Patterson
reports as of January 11, 2005 the balance in the account is $6,353.90. Two
bills were paid for a total of $306.00.
The 2005 bills should be ready by mid February. If possible, bring checks to
the March meeting. Fees are due in the Spring and at the tri county seeding
meeting in July. There should be no increases in fees for 2005. Clubs will
receive a small rebate due to relays from last year’s tri county.
Swimming: David Katz has no report.
Computer: Joe Crick has no report.
“B” Meets: Art Kollmier submits a tentative schedule. He states we should look at the sheet. We will try to work out changes the best we can.
Meeting Schedule: March 8th at Riverton, May 10th at Riverton
Championship Meet Report: Host Club Sunnybrook. Greg Shetler introduces Jerry Wixted as Meet Director. Mr. Wixted has questions as to number of sessions on Sunday, terms of 2005 contract and food concession.
He is hoping to have answers as soon as possible.
Any suggestions should go to: gwixted@smithstratton.com or gwixted@verizon.net
John Mahon reports the contract for 2005 is the same as last year $13,000 for rental. This includes 3 clinics in the Spring. Must put down $1,000 deposit. Need dates for clinics. John will share contract names with Jerry.
G.C.I.T. is asking for a Colorado operator and does have extra charges for simulcast, hospitality room, etc.
Concession – buyout for market price. They consider this an opportunity for G.C.I.T. to make money. Their price last year was $2,700. John will get a figure for this year and discuss with Sunnybrook.
Art Kollmier states you can make money by getting donated food. Staffing is a problem.
There is no decision on number of Sunday sessions.
Barbara Milch states she would like to see all final relays swim on Sunday.
John suggests all reps think about this and bring discussion to March meeting. Talk to your club and come prepared. Keep in mind the number of buttons cannot change. There can only be 500 spectators.
Jerry Wixted states it is a trade off – 2 sessions – everyone swims but it ruins the parade. He feels l session makes irate parents.
John Mahon states the burden falls on the tri county reps. All buttons should be distributed fairly.
New Business: Potential survey – Must be agreed upon and then brought out to the membership.
Any job openings at the various tri county clubs should be sent to Domenick Acciani. (domacciani@comcast.net)
Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia Hafner, Secretary
