MINUTES OF MEETING
JANUARY 13, 2004
David Katz called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m. at Riverton Country Club. The minutes of the October 2003 meeting were approved.
There were two new Tri County representatives, Don Heaney from Downs Farm and Kevin Smaniotto from Georgetown. Welcome!!!
Treasurer: Paul Patterson reports an ending balance of $6,685.78. When all moneys are in, it should be back up to about $10,000. Hoping to e-mail all the clubs their bills and have payment by 3/15 if possible, but definitely by 4/15.
Swimming: Ron Kane reports he will have qualifying times for 2004 Championships at the March meeting as well as report on the False start rule.
Championship Meet: Tavistock’s final report on the 2003 Championship meet was given to Downs Farm. Don Heaney, the Championship meet Director from Downs Farm has received the report. They will do their best to put on a good meet. Downs Farm needs input for this year from reps. Last year, there were no spectator problems, and we did not exceed the maximum numbers at any session. Encourage all to attend this year. Try to get better camera coverage for this year. Will meet with G.C.I.T . Hoping construction will be done.
Computer: Joe Crick reports he will schedule separate training sessions for dual meet computerized entry as well as team manager. He evaluated last year’s Championship Meet data, including the number of swimmers in each of the 2 Sunday sessions. Joe claims that we could swim l session on Sunday with the top 16 and l set of relays, and only total 614 swimmers. This data implies that there may not be a need to split the Sunday finals into 2 sessions
Barbara Milch asks who makes that decision.
Downs Farm will try to see if this could be feasible. Will discuss at the March meeting to see if we could go back to l session. Give input to Don Heaney. Everyone think about it
"B" Meets: Art Kollmeier states there is a sample schedule on each table. Check the schedule and submit any requested changes to him before the March meeting. He will do his best. Also asking teams to consider a tri meet.
Old Business:
False Start Rule: No recall (false start rule) to be applied to dual meets. Based on the October minutes and input gathered, Mr. Kane will review and make his recommendations at the March meeting.
Upcoming meetings will be held on March 9 and May 11 at Riverton Country Club at 8:00 p.m. The June meeting date and time will be announced later. It will include officials clinics.
There may also be additional clinics this year at G.C.I.T. There is a list of certified officials on the web.
New Business:
Kingston Estates will host the Cherry Bowl this year.
Pheasant Run will host Burlington County.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia Hafner, Secretary
